Product Description
Grade 70 transport chain (commonly referred to as G70, binder chain, or tie-down chain) is a high-strength carbon steel chain designed specifically for securing cargo, towing, logging, and construction applications-but not for overhead lifting. Heat-treated for durability and finished with a distinctive yellow zinc chromate, it's easily recognizable and compliant with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Grade 70 chains are roughly 20% stronger than Grade 43 chains, making them ideal for heavy-duty load restraint.
For example:
A 3/8″ G70 chain supports up to 6,600 lbs WLL (26,400 lbs break strength)
Other sizes follow standard WLL charts, typically 3,150 lbs (¼″) to 15,800 lbs (5/8″)
Every chain meets ASTM and NACM regulations, and available finishes include yellow chromate, hot-dip galvanizing, or powder coating, depending on environmental requirements
